In 1915, the film Birth of a Nation created the 2nd generation of the Ku Klux Klan, the most powerful society in the world. White men and women from all walks of life joined by the thousands.  Senators, judges, police chiefs & juries made up of Klan members allowed men to get away with murder.

On Easter Sunday, 1923, men of the Klan attacked a WW1 veteran named Ralph Burleson. After beating & flaying him, they left him for dead, covered in tar and abandoned on the courthouse lawn.

Dan Moody, a young and eager District Attorney in the small town of Georgetown in central Texas took on the Ku Klux Klan and for the FIRST TIME in history – won. ​
